My Trumpet Teacher Student

My name is Lionel Busch and I teach affordable trumpet lessons in South Calgary and Okotoks.

I began playing trumpet in 1974.  Since beginning I have been a first prize winner in the Calgary Kiwanis Music Festival solo trumpet competition. 

I have performed with Tommy Banks, Big Miller, Bobby Carcasses,  the University Of Calgary Jazz Lab Bands; the University Of Calgary Symphonic Band; The Kings Own Calgary Regiment Band; The Westwinds Jazz Orchestra; and The Doug Fox and Friends Big Band and Camie Leard and the Groove.  I currently play lead trumpet in the Summit Big Band; One Nite Band; The One Nite Little Big band, The ONB Jazz trio; and the Calgary Police Service Ceremonial Trumpet Corp.

I have studied trumpet at the University of Calgary and was an honours theory student at the Royal Conservatory of Music.  I am a former private trumpet student of Greg Bush (recording artist and music professor at Malsapina University) and Don Schultz (former trumpet player with the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra).
